You’ll travel out of Arusha and through the scenic Maasai Steppe area on your way to Tarangire National Park, which is about a 90-minute drive. This is Tanzania’s sixth largest national park, renowned for its large herds of elephants, ancient and magnificent baobab trees, and the occasional tree-climbing African python. The park is also home to countless beautiful bird species. Enjoy a full day of game drives in the park and a picnic lunch at one of the designated picnic sites. You’ll then head to the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving in the evening to unwind and enjoy your surroundings before dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast with delicious packed lunches, you’ll drive straight to the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game driving and a picnic lunch. This is a prime location for spotting the ‘Big 5,’ including the endangered black rhino. Spend the morning and afternoon exploring the crater floor, one of the world’s most stunning natural wonders. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated sites and continue your game drive through this collapsed volcanic crater, which is 12 miles in diameter and 2,000 feet deep. The fertile soil and lake attract a wide range of wildlife, and you’ll explore the forests, grasslands, and plains in search of them. In the late afternoon, you’ll head back, with the opportunity to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.
